Briya is building a global research network designed to make healthcare data usable for research across institutions, populations, and geographies. Through a federated infrastructure, healthcare organizations can make data available for approved research while maintaining institutional control, with Briya AIRE providing the AI research layer that helps researchers turn complex clinical data and research questions into real-world evidence.
We are proud to announce that King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has joined that network, adding NHS-scale data from one of the UK’s largest and busiest teaching Trusts and strengthening the depth and diversity of evidence available through Briya AIRE.
Expanding representation with NHS-scale data
Founded in 1840, King’s College Hospital has grown into one of the UK’s largest and busiest teaching Trusts. It serves more than one million people across South London and acts as a specialist referral center for millions more. Its leading specialties include liver disease and transplantation, neurosciences, diabetes, sickle cell disease, fetal medicine, stroke, and blood cancers.
King’s also has a long history of research and medical innovation and is a founding member of King’s Health Partners, one of the UK’s accredited Academic Health Science Centres.
By joining Briya, King’s adds another major NHS population to the network, bringing greater depth across patient populations, treatment pathways, specialties, and clinical settings. That creates new opportunities to build more representative cohorts, study outcomes across healthcare environments, and validate findings across populations.
As Briya’s network grows, so does the foundation researchers can draw on to generate stronger, more representative evidence. As David Lazerson, Co-founder and CEO of Briya, explains:
“By bringing NHS-scale data into our growing international network, we’re helping build the scientific foundation that allows researchers everywhere to generate stronger evidence while focusing more of their time on science itself.”
Briya’s growing global evidence network
King’s joins leading European institutions already connected through Briya’s infrastructure, including Charité and Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza.
Across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, Briya’s global network represents more than 120 million patients. Each institution brings new populations, geographies, specialties, and clinical contexts into reach for research, expanding both the questions researchers can investigate and the evidence they can generate.
Making more data available for research is an important step. The next is reducing the operational complexity between accessing that data and turning it into impact.
From research question to real-world evidence
That is where Briya AIRE comes in. AIRE is an AI research platform that helps researchers transform research questions into real-world evidence.
Using natural language, researchers can explore anonymized healthcare data, define patient populations, analyze outcomes, and generate evidence across structured and unstructured clinical sources. AIRE handles the operational complexity between fragmented data and defensible evidence while keeping researchers in control of the methodology.
Briya creates a more direct path from data to impact, helping researchers spend less time preparing and piecing together data and creating more room for science. With King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust now part of the network, that path extends across an even broader and more diverse foundation for real-world evidence generation.
